(November 16, 1946 – April 3,
2000) Terence McKenna was a writer and philosopher. He
was notable for his many speculations on subjects
ranging from the Voynich Manuscript to the origins of
the human species to Novelty theory, which claims time
to be a fractal wave of increasing novelty, which
culminates dramatically in 2012. His concept appeared
to involve a combination of hallucinogenic chemical
agents, Gaianism, and shamanism.
"I was born Jan 17, 1942,
11:30 AM Sandy, Utah time, during a snowy blizzard
in my Great-Aunt's bed on her birthday. Surely miss
her; she protected me from the howling wolves. Great
Aunt Mary, a Viking holy woman with the Second
sight, a tale one day to be told. Thus I am doing
what a registered old Coot does, chewin m' cud and
dreaming." Kent

The Year of 2006
was"Nikola Tesla Year"
Proclaimed by the governments of
Serbia and Croatia, UNESCO, and the Professional
Engineers of Ontario, Canada.
Tribute to Nikola Tesla
Nikola Tesla (Serbian
Cyrillic born10 July 1856 - died 7 January
1943) was a world-renowned Serb-American inventor,
physicist, mechanical engineer and electrical
engineer. Tesla is regarded as one of the most
important inventors in history. He is well known for
his contributions to the discipline of electricity
and magnetism in the late 19th and early 20th
century. Tesla's patents and theoretical work form
the basis of modern alternating current electric
power (AC) systems, including the polyphase power
distribution systems and the AC motor, with which he
helped usher in the Second Industrial Revolution.
In the United States, Tesla's
fame rivaled that of any other inventor or scientist
in history or popular culture. After his
demonstration of wireless communication in 1893 and
after being the victor in the "War of Currents", he
was widely respected as America's greatest
electrical engineer. Much of his early work
pioneered modern electrical engineering and many of
his discoveries were of groundbreaking importance.
In 1943, the Supreme Court of the United States
credited him as being the inventor of the radio.
Never putting much focus on his finances, Tesla died
impoverished and forgotten at the age of 86.
His contribution was recognised
and the derived SI unit measuring magnetic flux
density or magnetic induction (commonly known as the
magnetic field ), the tesla, was named in his honour
(at the Conférence Générale des Poids et Mesures,
Paris, 1960).
Tesla's legacy can be seen
across the modern world wherever electricity is
used. Aside from his work on electromagnetism and
engineering, Tesla is said to have contributed in
varying degrees to the fields of robotics,
ballistics, computer science, nuclear physics, and
theoretical physics. In his later years, Tesla was
regarded as a mad scientist and became noted for
making bizarre claims about possible scientific
developments. Many of his achievements have been
used, with some controversy, to support various
pseudosciences, UFO theories, and New Age occultism.
Contemporary admirers of Tesla have deemed him "the
man who invented the twentieth century."
Research uncovers mystical
effects of controversial psychedelic agent...
By E.J. Mundell
HealthDay Reporter
TUESDAY, July 11
(HealthDay News) -- Volunteers who tried the
hallucinogenic ingredient in psychedelic mushrooms
during a controlled study funded by the U.S.
government had "mystical" experiences, and many of
them still felt unusually happy months later. The aims
of the Johns Hopkins researchers were simple: to
explore the neurological mechanisms and effects of the
compound, as well as its potential as a therapeutic
agent.Although psilocybin -- the hallucinogenic agent
in the Psilocybe family of mushrooms -- first gained
notoriety more than 40 years ago, it has rarely been
studied because of the controversy surrounding its
use. This latest finding, which sprang from a
rigorously designed trial, moves the hallucinogen's
effect closer to the hazy border separating hard
science and religious mysticism."More than 60 percent
of the volunteers reported effects of their psilocybin
session that met the criteria for a 'full mystical
experience' as measured by well-established
psychological scales," said lead researcher Roland
Griffiths, a professor in the departments of
neuroscience, psychiatry and behavioral biology at
Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore. What's more,
most of the 36 adult participants -- none of whom had
taken psilocybin before -- counted their experience
while under the influence of the drug as "among the
most meaningful and spiritually significant
experiences of their lives," Griffiths said. Most said
they became better, kinder, happier people in the
weeks after the psilocybin session -- a fact
corroborated by family and friends. The researchers
also noted no permanent brain damage or negative
long-term effects stemming from use of psilocybin.
Warning: Ayahuasca is not
something to play with. It may even kill, not because
it is toxic in itself, but because the body may not be
able to stand the spiritual realm, the vibrations from
the spirit world. Pablo said he had several
frightening experiences with ayahuasca. Three times he
thought he was going to die.*
One needs courage, a
strong discipline, and to proceed by degrees. It is a
long process that might take two or three years before
one can venture into the higher realms. One needs a
teacher that shows the correct procedures, and how to
defend oneself against supernatural attack. But after
some time, one needs to continue alone, because even
one's teacher might become jealous of one's progress
and could take away all one has learned.
*Frightening ayahuasca
experiences are quite frequent. It is common that
people take ayahuasca only once, and are afraid to
take it again.
